In Ontario, the Board of Funeral Services is responsible for licensing funeral professionals and funeral homes. They also enforce the legislation governing the funeral profession. The Board can provide you with a pre-licensing information package about establishing a funeral home in Ontario

Licensing requirements differ from province to province. In Ontario, a licensed funeral director requires a specific educational background.
